Apple, Pear, and Cranberry Compote

- 3 Cups coarsely choopped peeled apples (about 2 med.)
- 2 1/4 Cups coarsely chopped peeled bartlett pear (about 2 med.)
- 1/4 C apple cider
- 1/2 C fresh cranberries
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
Combine the first 7 ingredients in a medium saucepan over med. heat. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes or until the fruit is tender. Remove from heat, and stir in lemon juice.
