Mushroom-Bean Pate

Mushroom-Bean Pate

Recipe By : adapted from a recipe by Chef Deb at Vegsource
Serving Size : 6 

2 cans mushrooms -- drained
15 ounces vegetarian baked beans -- drained
1/3 cup potato flakes
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1/4 cup Bakon Bits -- see recipe
1 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon hickory smoked salt*

Put all in processor, and process to an almost smooth paste (leave a little texture). Put into a greased loaf pan. Cover with foil. Bake at 400 F for 30 minutes. Serve hot or cold, with crackers, raw veggies, or as a sandwich spread.

*If you don’t have this, you can substitute salt to taste plus a drop or two of liquid smoke.
